About the Girl Scout Cookie Sale

Ready Set Go!

The 2007 – 2008 Girl Scout Cookie Program theme is Ready.Set.Go!

The Girl Scout Cookie Sale is a great all-American tradition passed on through many generations. The cookie sale is usually the first opportunity girls have to try their hand at being entrepreneurs. Girls take an active role in the cookie sale program, practicing communication skills, counting and sorting their product and collecting money. The business skills they develop are sure to be beneficial in every day life. Girls plan what to do with the funds that they generate, learning to be self sufficient young women.

Girls know that through the cookie sale, dreams can become realities as they earn their own way to adventures that they plan with the guidance of their troop leaders. We will celebrate with all the girls as they experience the fun, friendship, leadership, teamwork and diversity the Girl Scout program has to offer.

Girl Scouting helps girls grow strong. Come be a part of our celebration. The cookie sale also helps spread the fun and education to all the communities we serve. The funds stay within our council jurisdiction, to provide girl programming and opportunities to all our girl members.

The variety of Girl Scout cookies sold by the girls may have changed over the years, but the message is consistent; we want to help girls develop a wide range of skills! Each year the cookie company, in our case ABC Bakers, determines the variety of cookies that will be sold. This year we are selling:

Thin MintsZero Trans-Fat
Caramel deLitesZero Trans-Fat
Peanut Butter SandwichZero Trans-Fat
Peanut Butter PattiesZero Trans-Fat
LemonadesZero Trans-Fat
CinnaSpinZero Trans-Fat
Thanks-A-LotZero Trans-Fat
ShortbreadZero Trans-Fat

Girl Scout Councils determine when they will sell cookies and how much they will sell them for. This means that consumers will find cookies for a variety of prices and during a variety of times of the year.

Where can I buy Girl Scout Cookies?

Cookie Booths are very successful. Research tells us that almost everyone who is approached will buy Girl Scout Cookies, usually several packages!

A Cookie Booth is a great way for Girl Scouts to reach the public directly with product on demand. Girls can work on their public relations skills, public speaking, self-confidence, planning, and budgeting.

How Does a Business Host a Cookie Booth

Troop Cookie Booth Registration

You must be registered with the Cookie Booth Coordinator two weeks before your Cookie Booth takes place to receive your Cookie Booth patches.

Why register? Here are four great reasons!

  1. If your troop arrives at a Cookie Booth and a troop is already there, the “registered” Cookie Booth receives priority.
  2. Registering your troop’s Cookie Booth is a necessary step to insure fairness to all troops participating in this great revenue generating opportunity.
  3. Registering is easy! Completely fill out the form above and either mail it to the Service Center at least two weeks before your first Cookie Booth date or email it to lwieck@gsmt.org.
  4. We will post Cookie Booths on our website, www.gsmt.org, for the public to find a convenient place to purchase Girl Scout Cookies.

If you have any questions, please contact the Cookie Booth Coordinator at 616-784-3341 or 800-442-1401 ext. 162, or email lwieck@gsmt.org.

In addition to the 37 ten-inch Dash puppies, one randomly chosen location within the council area will have a grand prize certificate redeemable for a 52-inch Dash Dog. Wow!
