Registration Guidelines
The following procedures apply to Girl Scouts of Michigan Trails program events unless stated otherwise. All girls participating in a Girl Scout program event must be registered with Girl Scouts of the USA.
- Registrations will be processed when they are received.
- Each event will have a "window" of days in which all interested troops or participants may register. That window will open and close. Registrations will not be processed until the first day of the "window." Spaces available will be first come, first served. (Waiting lists will be maintained in case of cancellations.)
- Full payment must accompany event registration form. (An opportunity fund request form may be submitted for reimbursement when financial assistance is requested.)
- All troops/groups must meet girl/adult ratios as stated in Safety-Wise. Please list all adult names on
registration form, even if there is no fee for adults.
- You will receive a letter, with a map confirming your registration as registrations are received in the office prior to events.
- If you are scheduled to attend an event but do not attend, fees are forfeited. If you cancel, a refund will be given if a request is received in writing at the Girl Scout Service Center at least two weeks before the event. Sudden illness or emergencies that prevent attendance will be considered on an individual basis. Refund requests due to illness must be made in writing no later than seven days after the event.
- As a courtesy to those planning programs and those on waiting lists, please call to cancel your registration as soon as you know you will not be attending.
- Late registrations will be accepted if the program can accommodate additional participants. Please contact the Activity Registrar to verify that space is available before sending in your registration if it is after the deadline.
- Troop/group leaders should make sure all girls are made aware of the events and programs in this book (and cancellation/refund procedures).
- The leader does not have to attend an event for members of her troop to participate. Individuals may register for council and area events. Parents or other adults may be asked to attend and/or participate to fulfill ratio requirements.
- In the event a Council sponsored program/event/training must be canceled due to inclement weather, etc., the following radio stations will broadcast the cancellation information:
WOOD AM 1300 & STAR 105.7 FM
WSNX FM 104.5
WTKG AM 1230 & WBFX 101.3 FM the Fox
